(Saju Nair - Dubai) This report is regarding a virtual gathering organized by Funun Arts and this event stood out like a blazing star from the crowd of ordinary because of its inspiring and exquisite concept of unifying aspiring adolescents and professional artists under the banner of art to share and discuss the various factors that inspire the making of creations of young talents and how they deal with academics and art whilst maintaining equilibrium between both simultaneously. The most significant aspect of the administration of UAE is that they initiate various programs supporting and encouraging the youth and providing them with the highest level of platforms to present, listen and to debate on their ideas and wholeheartedly execute their innovation that represents the country's strength. The event that the whole world is looking forward to, which is to take place in UAE, is The World Expo 2020 and this event is also proclaimed to be the biggest show in the world. The exciting theme set for this event is 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future' and more interestingly, the mascots designed for this great show, are of two kids named 'Rashid & Latifa'. This clearly justifies the confidence of the administration in its youth. Furthermore, this also adds extra emphasize on the fact that there will be immense opportunities presented for the youth to explore and gain success in this great nation.

Funun Arts under the leadership of Shiba Khan and Farah Khan is known for curating events with a twist and they have proven this at many occasions and yet again Funun has surprised the art world with an event titled 'Art Talk'. In the current world, a platform for teenagers to express their views on life and art carries immense relevance. Funun has organized this event involving nine young and passionate speakers, to hear them and to enhance their confidence in problem solving and to meet life challenges head-on with confidence. The questions were standard for all participants and that has indeed introduced multiple perspectives from all the young adults. This event also enhanced its glory with the presence of distinguished personalities who have entrusted their prominence in their respective fields.

'Art talk' is designed for empowering teenagers to build confidence, effectively communicate and to share their experience, perceptions and views in life for sharpening their skills. In today's world, where technology has more or less shadowed the ability of the younger generation, a platform where young aspirants can openly express themselves is much needed. It was indeed stimulating to listen to the views of the chief guest and other special guests who were also guest speakers on the day as all of them expressed their views in different ways. Since I was also participant of this event, it was evident that all aspects that was discussed clearly puts emphasis on meeting life with an open mind and moving away from the bubble which is your comfort zone to explore avenues. Speakers also advised the tweens and teens to build courage to explore and embrace opportunities and to emerge successful in their respective fields they choose to master all the while giving the utmost importance to honesty and humanity.

'Art Talk' brings to mind the famous quote of Mr. Henri Bergson, a French Philosopher and he says, "The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend". Art Talk widened the scope of knowledge for young minds which in turn enabled them to look beyond the materialistic layer of life and to peer into the deeper and more human aspect of beauty.

Mr. Khalil AbdulWahid, Emirati artist, Director of Fine arts Department Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, inaugurated the session with his inspiring speech that has touched every aspect of life and the key values that needs to be considered by the youth to evolve into a unique human being. Mr. Khalil also congratulated Funun Arts for hosting this gathering even during these difficult scenarios caused by the pandemic and appreciated the participation of the large gathering present online through Zoom to experience this event. "How is art important in our life? Anywhere we go and whatever we do there is an element of art in it as ART is not limited to any creations and life itself is an ART.," says Mr. Khalil in his address during the event. Mr. Khalil AbdulWahid also elucidated his statement by stating an example of the revolutionary changes in the automobile industry from a cycle to the most luxurious vehicles and means of transport that was achieved with the combination of art and technology. He also encourages youth to keep pushing themselves to enhance their passion and to set an example for generations to come.

I was very curious when I entered into the virtual room and honestly, I was impressed and surprised with the topics discussed by keeping focus on the 9 young speakers. This was a great session and I am overwhelmed with the response by the enthusiastic teenagers and it was a blessing to have had the opportunity to listen to the silent process behind very busy and young minds. So, four hours late we were still going strong I think if it was not for the dinner time we should have gone for couple more hours for sure. Everybody enjoyed this so much and what was even more pleasing for me was to see that these young people so focused and so interested and they were so inquisitive, asking so many questions to find out details and I think that is something so wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed it, everybody did his or her part, and I wish we could do it more often and I think that is the plan as well."

Founder of Funun Arts and curator of this show Ms. Shiba Khan says, "Art talk brought so many aspects. It showed how focused our teens are. If given a chance, they can come up with so many innovative and creative thoughts. They are full of energy, curiosity, ideas that are bubbling out. We can say that Art talk has the potential to help improve a student's memory and concentration skills, develop decision-making and critical thinking skills, enhance communication and listening skills, but also encourage focus and discipline. Arts can also help a student to improve self-esteem and social skills. Art, in any form, can give teens emotions that can lift up their spirit and make them more driven than ever and this is the mere reason why art is important in our daily lives. The art that we are surrounded by, whether it is a painting, music or even videos can have a huge impact on our mood and emotions. Many of us enjoy Arts - music, theater, paintings and other visual arts. They can make our world seem more beautiful, and bring us joy and new perspective. However, did you know that Arts could have a big impact on youth development? So many factors discussed and so many facts came into light such as Art can allow us to see beauty in a single grain of sand. With all panelist, sharing their intellectual views were so inspiring for students and the perspective, which this young generation presented, was a teaching for us too. Still lot to say, lot to listen and more discussion is needed, so we decided to bring this Art Talk again and again with different perspectives, different topics and different people from all walks of life."

"I don't think Art can be defined with a single definition, it is a vast subject with enormous definitions which can be related to our daily life. Perception of art varies from person to person and outputs will always be very pleasing and mesmerizing as art is creativity and when it is given shape from your imaginations it truly comes from our heart so as art is also a meditation and a portrayal of the inner soul. Research shows that exposure to the Arts can help teens develop many positive skills and capacities that are valued by leaders and employers, such as persistence, collaboration, creative thinking, motivation, and problem solving. In addition, studies demonstrate that Arts exposure can improve a teenager's confidence and academic performance. Therefore, bringing this talk and hosting it live was a different experience for everyone, for teenagers, for speakers and for listeners. It was so interactive that It went for 4 hours and was not noticed by any one." Says Farah Khan, Creative Director of Funun Arts.

Over the year's hospitality industry has been contributing enormous support to artist either by owning their artworks or by providing artists a space to display their works in the royal ambiance of hotels. Ms. Mariela Hristova, Marketing Manager of Ajman Hotels who is a strong advocate of art and artists also graced the event and inspired the gathering with her beautiful speech "What's important is to be aware of the obstacles today's teens are navigating and to know when it is time to intervene more proactively. Teen mental health issues have led to a sharp increase in youth depression so keeping communication lines open-and eyes open-is key in getting them the help they might need and this Art Talk has opened the door for them. Great initiative by Funun arts." Says Ms. Mariela Hristova
