Mikail Albano, artist
Mikail Albano, artist

English version

"I will speak of Mikail Albano an Artist who has a very large production and who also loves to experiment and make art in a different way even when leaving his comfort zone.In his works there is research into the use of not strictly conventional supports. I spend a few words on the subjects in Mikail Albano's production: the Elephants. It is represented both in detail with portions of its skin or with details such as an eye, both in its entirety but in any case, there is always a great wealth of almost manic details where you can clearly see the folds and its roughness so much to do appear the elephant almost infront of us in all its majestic elegance. In some cases there is a feeling that we can touch it as if it came out of the painting. We move from more meditative artworks such as "la Saggezza" to more ironic and amusing representations, for example the series on the 4 elements "Air Water Earth and Fire"The works seem like a world within another world and the elephant is intended as a small but integral part of an entire universe. In 2015 after various experiments the Artist started using the emptied ostrich eggs. The egg is first pierced with a drill, then completely emptied of its contents, first washed with soap and water, then immersed in bleach and alcohol. The egg is then sanded or left rough and is ready to be carved or painted. The first Artwork is called "Uovofante" and represents the Elephant's eye. It is currently present in the permanent collection of the renowned Sicilian designer Marella Ferrera. The Artist also used duck eggs. The colours used are oil except for one artwork where the ink was used. The feeling we have when looking at this work is as if the egg represented a universe in its own right, a living element with its own identity and which in turn communicates and interacts through the eyewith the outside. Other works followed where the Artist also designed not only the subject itself but also the support. In the work "Nascita" the Artist representing the elephant with its umbilical cord and he plays with the paradox of inserting a mammal inside an egg.Giving a personally subjective view, it is a way to portray the paradoxes that life inevitably reserves for each of us. Finally, I mention the only work done in ink, entitled Numerus thatMikail dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci and where the Artist also project a wooden frame." by Emma Chiaramonte
